Художник Кристиан Гранью (Christian Graniou) родился в 1946 году в департаменте Лот и Гарон, Аквитания (Франция), учился в школе декоративных искусств, а затем – в Тулузской Академии изящных искусств. работал художником-оформителем и дизайнером.
На протяжении многих лет Кристиан Гранью практиковал живопись масляными красками, потом посвятил себя акварели, которая обеспечивает прозрачность и легкость и несравнимые цвета - так говорит сам художник. Несмотря на то, что детальная прорисовка его не привлекает, а свет оказывается распределенным по всему пространству, его работы вызывают ощущения простора и заполненности воздухом.
Акварель часто называют самой непослушной, самой капризной краской. С ней трудно работать, ее трудно хранить, она непредсказуема и требует от художника максимальной сосредоточенности.
